Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Recon (“Recon”, “we”, “us”), a repository-intelligence platform operated by Yestack. By creating an account or using Recon, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Recon.

1. The service

Recon analyzes a repository you connect and produces an architecture report — a map of the system with findings, risks, opportunities, and strengths, each linked to evidence in the code. Recon accesses your repositories read-only and does not modify, push to, or open pull requests against them.

2. Eligibility & your account

• You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract.
• Provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

3. Repository access & your authorization

You represent and warrant that you are authorized to connect and analyze each repository you select, and that doing so does not violate any agreement, license, or law. You grant Recon permission to access the connected repositories on a read-only basis solely to provide the service. You can revoke access at any time by uninstalling the GitHub App or disconnecting in Settings.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• connect or analyze repositories you are not authorized to access;
• use Recon for any unlawful purpose or to infringe others’ rights;
• attempt to bypass plan limits, rate limits, access controls, or security measures;
• probe, scan, overload, or disrupt the service or its infrastructure;
• reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code of the platform, except where permitted by law;
• upload or submit credentials or secrets belonging to others.

5. Plans, run limits & billing

• Recon offers Free, Basic, and Advanced plans with monthly analysis-run limits, enforced server-side. Bringing your own Anthropic API key increases your monthly run limits.
• Plan changes to a paid tier are manually reviewed and approved; there is currently no automated payment provider, and no charge is made without your explicit action. Switching to Free takes effect immediately.
• We may change plan features, limits, or pricing on reasonable notice.

6. Bring-your-own API key

If you supply your own Anthropic API key, runs are billed to your Anthropic account, and your use of that key is subject to Anthropic’s terms. You are responsible for the costs and compliance associated with your key. We store your key encrypted and use it only to run your analyses.

7. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to your source code and to the reports Recon generates about your repositories. We claim no ownership of your content. Recon, including the platform software, design, and trademarks, remains our property. We may use aggregated, de-identified statistics that do not identify you or your code to operate and improve the service.

8. AI-generated analysis — important disclaimer

Recon’s reports are produced by automated and AI systems. While findings are linked to evidence in your code, the analysis may contain errors, omissions, or misinterpretations. Reports are provided for informational purposes only and are not professional, security, or legal advice, and are not a guarantee that your code is secure, correct, or complete. Recon is not a substitute for human review and is not a security scanner, audit, or CI gate. Verify findings before acting on them.

9. Service availability

We provide Recon on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recon is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recon and Yestack will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Recon and Yestack from claims arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your connection or analysis of repositories you were not authorized to access.

13. Termination

You may stop using Recon and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to protect the service. On termination, your right to use Recon ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law & contact
